Sarah and Josh Visit over Memorial Day Weekend

Sooooo excited that my bestie, Sarah, and her boyfriend, Josh, came to visit me for the long weekend! And this time they brought their precious puppy, Otis! Emma and Otis have had so much fun playing together!

Josh and Otis

Sarah was so sweet and brought me a really neat candle. It's made from natural ingredients including milk. I think it's so cute because it comes in a little milk jar. AND it smells sooooo good! Thanks Sarah!

Sarah and Josh arrived Friday afternoon. For dinner we headed down to Tybee to go to The Crab Shack. It was all of our first time there. It was alright. Felt touristy but also very beachy, and that was fun. The weather was also really nice.  I got the crab cakes which came served in some crab shells. They were alright until I saw that there was still an eyeball attached to one of the crabs.

Pretty view

The Crab Shack has a pit of alligators that you can feed. They were pretty small and I felt bad for them. But generally I hate alligators.

Saturday morning we took the dogs to Fort Pulaski to play in the water. It was Otis's first time swimming! He did really well and the puppies had so much fun! Josh fished and the dogs swam and chased crabs.

When we got home I placed a towel on the couch so that the wet dogs would sit on it instead of the couch and of course Emma sat on the only part where there wasn't part of the towel.

After we took the dogs back home from the Fort we went to lunch at one our favorite restaurants on Tybee, The Social Club, and then hung out at the beach all afternoon. After the beach we showered and rested a bit before heading down town for dinner at Belford's. I had never eaten there before. It was fun sitting outside in City Market. There was a lot of good people watching because of the large tourist crowds. Josh had a steak and both Sarah and he swear it was one of the best steaks they've ever had. I ate the mahi mahi and it was, um, ehh. I had a bite of Sarah's lobster ravioli and that was actually really yummy though. After dinner we hung out down town for a bit.

Look at Otis in a skeleton costume! I had purchased it for Emma but obviously it was too small and just happened to fit Otis perfectly!

Sunday we hung out at the pool, Josh fished some, and we had a cookout for dinner. It was a really nice, relaxing day. Although, the pool was really crowded. I'm going to be so happy when this memorial day rush of tourists go home. But, I don't want Sarah and Josh to leave! Pout!

While we were cooking out Sunday night we put Emma in her crate and when we came home this is what we found she had done... Guess her lab side is coming out.

I've really enjoyed having Sarah, Josh, and Otis visit this weekend! We're about to head out to lunch at Zunzis and take the dogs to the park. Such a fun weekend! Can't wait till I get to go visit Sarah at her new place in a few weeks!

Framing Memories

I meant to blog about this a long time ago but for some reason never got around to it. But in honor of our first anniversary, I decided now was a good time to get around to it. Right after the wedding my mom took my beautiful bridal bouquet to a specialist to have it dried and framed. It took a long time to have it finished. I got the finished product at Christmas time. I love how it turned out! I'm surprised how much color stayed once the flowers dried. We also got to choose the backing and the frame itself. We went for a rustic, shabby feel which mimicked our wedding.  Also framed is a handkerchief of my gramma's which I carried with my bouquet the day of. Again, I love how it turned out.

This was the before:

And here is the after! Love it!

In addition to my beautiful framed bouquet my parents also had our wedding invitation framed. I love it! We keep in in our bedroom next to a photograph of us on our wedding day.

Thanks mom and dad for framing these items and helping preserve our precious memories!
