Cooler In Pooler!

This morning I ran my first ever 5k! The "Cooler In Pooler" 5K! I ran with some co-workers and Miguel. I am very proud of myself because I really despise running, so it was a big deal that I did it at all!

Of course I didn't run the whole time, but I ran more than I thought I would. It helped that my boss, Jennifer, ran with me. She is a runner (she just ran the Rock n' Roll half marathon) but due to doctors orders she could only 'lightly' exercise, which worked out really well for me. 

 

Miguel got 2nd place in his age division (25-34) and got 3rd place overall! Yay, Miguel! Of course, he was displeased with his time and performance (rolling eyes dramatically!). He got a medal and a Big Mac puzzle signed by Ronald McDonald himself! Haha!

My co-worker, Krystin, got 1st place in her age group! AND it was her first 5k EVER! Woo Hoo Krystin! She also got to take home an awesome Big Mac puzzle. 

I didn't get a prize of course, but I am going to keep my race number on my bulletin board! Miguel and I got numbers 1 and 2, which I thought was comical (they must have been assigned alphabetically). 

I really did have more fun than I thought I would and am looking forward to completing another 5k soon!
