Mini Vacay - Fantasy in Lights

This year my best friend, Sarah, and I started a new tradition. We went to Callaway Gardens for the Fantasy in Lights. Sarah, Josh, Miguel and I all went for a day and a night (Thanks mom for puppy-sitting!) It was really fun to go on a mini vacation and spend time together while enjoying nature's beauty. We got blessed with gorgeous weather.  It was so beautiful there. I love the mountains and woods. I took a lot of nature pictures... sorry. But they're not all scenery.

Thanks, Sarah, for driving us!

We saw wild turkeys when we got there! That's why I was out of the car in the above picture.

This is the chapel. It's Sarah's favorite place in the world.
Even the trails are beautiful. Callaway reminds me of Hilton Head in the way
that the buildings camouflage into the nature

My favorite part was walking around the paths and enjoying how beautiful it was.

The colors inside the chapel are amazingly beautiful!

After we visited the chapel and walked around a bit we went to the indoor gardens. I loved this place too. Callaway still had their Christmas decorations up. Happiness! The flowers and plants were beautiful. We had a really good time looking at new plants we've never seen before.

Next we went to the butterfly garden. That was really fun too, except that we were in winter clothing and it was VERY hot in there. Also, there were wayyyyyy too many lady bugs. You'll see what I'm talking about. in the picture below.

ewww the lady bugs... they were EVERYWHERE!

Sarah's special bridge

After the butterfly garden we went back to our rooms and napped and got ready for dinner. Sadly, we didn't take any pictures of us all dressed up at dinner. Dinner was realllllly yummy. Especially the fried green tomatoes - which we ordered because neither Sarah or Josh had ever tasted any... and they've lived in the south all their lives! They liked them a lot though. =) After dinner we went back to the Inn, got some drinks then changed into warmer clothes to go get on the trolly and see the light show.

Do you like our hats? Sarah and I bought these weeks ago to surprise the boys
by wearing them for the light show.  They didn't seem to like them as much as we do!

Christmas village! Yay! Yummy fudge!!

We were very cold. See Josh in the back completely bundled up in a snuggie.

We had a great time!!!! Can't wait to go again next year and continue the tradition!

Where's the cat?!?!

Emma has discovered my parent's elusive kitty cat, Puff (she came pre-named). Every once in a while we'll be sitting around enjoying each other's company and we'll see a very quick flash of grey followed by black.  Luckily, Emma isn't quite as fast as Puff. Emma chases Puff all around the house. This all ends with Puff running into the basement (where her litter box is) to escape into her kitty door and then loud barking commences.  Emma tries very, very hard to fit her body through the door to no avail. Puff will be very happy when the puppy goes back to Savannah.

First White Christmas for Emma... and us!

Yesterday our little family experienced our first white Christmas ever! So happy we were in Atlanta to witness and play in the snow! Emma LOVES snow! She had so much fun running around in it and enjoyed planting her nose deep down in the snow. She also loved chasing snow balls. We all had fun in the snow but are so glad it's not a permanent or frequent event! Brrr!!!

Oh no! The sun came out and started melting the snow! Boo!
