Guess Who Won a Raffle?

Miguel entered a raffle and to his surprise he won. He won a spot to play in a charity golf tournament two weeks from now. He hasn't played all winter so he's been going to the driving range during his lunch breaks and this weekend we went to the field by our house to hit some balls. Emma loved this because it was a game of constant fetch to her. She's also thrilled anytime Miguel comes to the field because he runs all over with her. After we left the field we went to lunch at one of our favorite BBQ places, Wiley's BBQ. Yum! Then we went home and took a nap before we went out with a group of friends for a date night. It took us FOREVER to get a table and then our food. Everyone and their brother has already made it to Savannah for St. Patrick's Day. Besides the crowds, the energy downtown is really fun right now! Very festive! All in all we had a good Saturday and bring on Thursday!!

We learned not to wear shorts to the field unless you are covered in bug spray! Damn sand gnats!
Loves, loves, loves running with her dad!

Emma is highly motivated by treats! Good sit, Emma!

All smiles!

Sunday Funday

Mom and Dad took me to Fort Pulaski yesterday.  Oh boy! It was soo much fun! I tried to show mom and dad where the deer where last time I was there. I pulled very hard to try to get there fast, just in case they might run off. We didn't get there fast enough. They must have seen us coming and left right before we got there.

Come on, Mom! Thissssss way!
The Old North Pier is where I get to go run without a leash!

Freedom!

I tried to show Mom and Dad the water too. They didn't seem interested in getting in with me, so I didn't swim either.

Ohhhh, I want that stick!!!!

I got the stick! I'm such a good retriever!

Look what I can do! Do I get a treat now?

Mom ran around with me for a little bit. I have so, so, so much fun at the beach. I love running around.

But my free running around got spoiled when this kid and his family showed up. I was really disappointed. They came and started playing right in front of me and didn't leave. Boo.

Once the family made it clear that they had no intentions of leaving any time soon we all decided to leave. That was fine with me. There were loads of other dogs at the fort yesterday, so I was easily distracted. I guess it's busier on the weekends.

Come on, Dad!  I see another dog!

After we left the fort we spent the day watching football playoffs and then Mom and Dad had some friends over for dinner. I was really excited to meet new friends, but I was still worn out from my day playing at the fort so I slept most of the time they were over. Yay for a good Sunday. Can't wait to do more of my favorite things this week!

Dog park isn't much fun...

Dog park isn't much fun... when you're the only dog. Every time we've gone before there have been plenty of dogs. Yesterday, there were zero. Emma was very excited when she got out of the car and realized where she was. We booked it into the park. I took Emma off her leash and she zipped in ready to play with all her other friends. Poor Emma. She turned around and looked at me, asking "Where is everyone?!?" We played fetch for a little while, but I guess I'm not as much fun to play with as puppies. So Emma quickly found other ways to entertain herself.

Emma entertained herself by digging a VERY big hole.

"Where is everyone?"

Empty Park

Somebody? Anybody? No one wants my tennis ball?
Pretty day

Pulaski Play Date

Emma and I spent a couple of hours playing around at Fort Pulaski yesterday. It was a bit chilly (not as cold as all my friends in Atlanta this week though), but the day was beautiful. Emma was VERY happy to get out of the house and run around. I definitely need to go to the Fort with her more often. Miguel and I purchased an annual pass (for only $10!!) so I really should go get our money's worth. Enjoy some pictures from our day!

I love the history of the fort

We had to stop many times so Emma could pick up numerous sticks

Look how many different kind of animal tracks there were!

Emma had SO much fun running around doing BIG puppy circles in the sand

I was so proud of Emma for jumping in the water without any coaxing at all!

Emma found a toy!

When we were leaving we got an amazing surprise.... Emma started barking her precious, little head off. I had no idea what she was barking at, until I saw the movement of four deer retreating back into the woods. I've never been so close to deer before! Their tails are so big! I literally have a rope burn from the leash because Emma was pulling so hard to try and get to them.

Savannah may have skipped Fall, but we didn't!

Emma and I found a new dog park! Yay! More on that later... on a side note Miguel and I went to a corn maze with some friends. I felt out of the loop not going to a pumpkin patch or even buying a pumpkin this fall. But we made it up by going to Ottawa Farms yesterday with some friends to do a corn maze. Emma wasn't allowed to go, but we still had fun =)

At each number we had to answer a question which would tell us which way to turn. They weren't always accurate.

Miguel started doing a corn trail so we would know not to go back that way

In the middle of the maze there was a big open space that the boys called a corn battle arena. This was following the many karate chops to the corn stalks and throwing corn at each other.

Okay, back to the dog. We found a new dog park that is still down town but a little closer to us. When we got there there were two other dogs there. They were a good size bigger than Emma, but she is a brave little girl and jumped right into playing with the big dogs!

Under is still good

Miguel and I also took Emma to the park by our house and played football. Emma is a good little defender.
