Welcome Buzby

Hi!  I'm Emma's newest cousin, Buzby.  I also answer to Buzz, little bit, baby kitty and little fox (I have a very bushy tail).  My dad thinks I look like Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon," but I think I'm cuter than a dragon.  I live in Seattle with my parents, Jared and Sarah, and this guy,
Milo, my big brother

I'm still very much a baby at 7 months old and am learning how to be a mature kitty when I'm not busy bouncing off the walls.  I love to run as fast as I can down the hallway and bounce off the armchair onto the couch and off again.  Milo joins me sometimes and we've only knocked over the lamp and plant on the end table maybe just once or twice.
tired from all that running and bouncing off the furniture

My litter mate and I were found without our mom when we were a few weeks old.  We were really sick and my eyes were so infected that my foster mom thought I might lose them!  Thankfully they are okay because I definitely need them to see all the bad birds outside and so I can pounce on Milo.  I love to carry things around the house, including my toy fish, lots of toy mice and I might have been known to take the keys of visiting friends and hide them behind the couch.  Currently my parent's remote for their Apple TV is missing, but I swear I had nothing to do with that...
"happy paws" :)  I move my feet back and forth when I'm really happy (which is most of the time).  My mom says  I have to purr about everything too.

Milo is teaching me a lot about being a big kitty.  He likes to take care of me and grooms me all the time.  I like to hang out with him and we wrestle a lot.
He helped me quickly learn that I need to show my mom where the food is every morning and talk about it as well.  We're super helpful.
We like to snuggle up together too

Lastly, I need to show you how amazing my hunting skills are.  This is a very evil bird that shows up in the house sometimes and I really like to grab it out of the air.  I really just want to show off my awesome gymnast moves.
PS. Aunt Laura and Uncle Miguel, thank you for the welcome care package you sent me!  I have successfully killed the toy mouse several times and have reluctantly shared the treats with Milo.  I hope to meet you both very soon!

Getting ready for Turkey Day!

This week I asked my mom to write a guest entry! She is the person who brought the love of dogs into my life! Dogs are a big part of her life as she spoils the family dogs, Luke and Bailey, and volunteers as a placement specialist with Adopt-A-Golden Atlanta. Enjoy!

Hello from Atlanta and Emma's Gramma!  Laura has honored me by asking me to write a guest entry in Emma's blog.  What fun!

Bailey
Luke
Here at our house in the ATL, we are busily prepping for Thanksgiving.  It is going to be MUCH fun, with lots and lots of people and activity!  Yay!  I began cooking yesterday, with the super help of Emma's Uncle Luke, Aunt Bailey, and Aunt Puff.  They are great helpers in the kitchen - always willing to clean up spills and crumbs on the floor, and they are happy to be taste-testers, too.  They'd even wash the dishes for me if I'd let them, but doggy-tongue-wiped plates are not my idea of clean -

Laura's sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Jared, come in from Seattle tomorrow - hooray! Just so you know, Seattle is WAAAAY too far from Atlanta.  We haven't seen S&J since July, which is WAAAAY too long, so we are pretty darned excited that they are going to be here this week.  They have to leave Milo, my grandkitty, in Seattle (where, BTW, it is supposed to SNOW today - what's up with that?) and have hired a kitty sitter for him while they are away.  Fortunately for them and for Milo, kitties are far easier to leave alone at home than dogs - right, Emma?  "WITH" is very good if you're a dog.

Then on Wednesday, Laura's grandfather (my father-in-law), Bob-Bob, arrives from Florida.  He has just completed a regimen of chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer, so he is going to brave one of the worst travel days of the year and fly, not drive, to ATL.  We all hope he doesn't have to get "patted down" in the new TSA way.  But, if he does, we know he'll have a great story to tell!  We are very thankful to have him with us to celebrate.  I know he is really looking forward to meeting Emma!

And Laura, Miguel and, of course, EMMA come in Wednesday, too.  We are very sad that they can't stay with us this visit, as Uncle Luke recently had a bout of kennel cough and is still contagious (though we are glad to say that Luke is all better!).  You might think that Savannah is very close to ATL, and that we see Laura, Miguel and Emma all the time.  Um, not so much.  Savannah is also too far away, but at least we can drive there.  Still, we haven't seen L&M&E nearly enough lately.  We'll look forward to seeing L&M on Thursday, along with Laura's Gramma (my mom), Uncle Pete (my brother) and his girlfriend Linda.  Add in Laura's daddy Brad and myself, and it will be a tableful!  Cannot wait!

I do hope you have read Emma's previous post on helpful holiday hints.  We have had some interesting animal holidays, like the year we gave Aunt Bailey lots of turkey pan leftovers - which she thoughtfully left for us later that evening, all over the carpeting on our stairs and basement.  We had to replace the carpet....  And then there was the year Aunt Puff decided that the silver bread basket, festively lined with a roll cover, was just the right size for a kitty bed.  Appetizing!

I hope that you have a most wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by the pets and people you love best; if you do, you'll have much to be thankful for, as we do!

Thanks, Emma, for inviting me to share your blog!
