I'm used to having to clean up after the dogs. Our floors look like this daily:
Jack sheds more than ANY dog I've ever been around. I feel like I am CONSTANTLY bending down to pick up these large tuffs of his hair! But, I remind myself that that is part of having a dog. Dogs shed. Okay. Fine. At least the floors are hardwood and that is easy to clean up. Plus we have the Dyson Animal so it's really not that awful and I shouldn't complain. However, thanks to the constant rain over the past week... my floors are looking like this:
Trying to catch the dogs and wipe their paws when they come inside is quite the adventure. I am SO ready for the rain to go away! Hyper and muddy dogs make for a dirty and crazy house and perhaps maybe a cranky dog-mom! ;)

Puppy Play In Pictures
Chase is a fun game!
Uh oh... Looks like Jack is a digger too!
Boing over to the water dish!
Kisses for Toby
Toby is 4 months old
But he is a brave little pup.
Emma likes to play hard then go hang out in a hole. Preferably one that she has dug.
Toby got a little dirty after Jack played with him... when Jack plays he likes to bite the other dog's head.
This toy was almost as big as Toby.
Brother and Sister chillin' at the park.
Ummm... hello drool.

Oh No! A Roll in the Dirt
Look what they've done to the field that Emma loves to play in!!! It's being covered in mounds of dirt. This is so frustrating. Emma still enjoys playing in it, of course. However, now taking Emma to the field is a messy ordeal and she can't run around in huge circles as well as she could in the big open field.

They keep on adding more and more mounds of dirt.
Emma loves running up and down the dirt 'hills'. They also make a great opportunity for her to partake in one of her all time favorite past times... digging.

A Roll in the Dirt
Gosh, the weather has been sooo nice the past two days! I think it's going to be one of those years where we skip seasons. It's going to hop from Winter to Summer! Right now I'm really looking forward to warmer weather, but not quite ready for the blazing heat of summer.
Emma has really been enjoying the nice weather too! We've stayed at the dog park for a really long time the past two days because it's so pretty out! We're starting to make friends with the regulars and I'm learning a lot about Savannah and dogs from my conversations there. It's interesting how some dogs gel better together than others. Emma has made really good friends with with one dog in particular, Pork Chop. She is almost one year old and loves to run with Emma. Emma has also taught Chops (Chops for short) to dig... Chop's mom, Teresa, isn't too happy about that. They also share the same pink, polka dot collar. They're meant to be friends!
The warmer days have made for lots of thirsty puppies!
Spencer hanging out in one of the holes Emma had just started to dig
Pork Chop digging thanks to Emma teaching her how
Chops drinks with one foot in the bowl, haha... these are the things that make me love dogs.
Look at Chops and Emma, they're doing exactly the same thing!
So looking forward to the weekend! My parents and their dogs, Bailey and Luke, are coming to visit and my mom and the pups are going to walk in the Dog Lovers Walk with me Saturday morning!

You Can't Tell How Deep A Puddle Is Until You Step In It
"You Can't Tell How Deep A Puddle Is Until You Step In It"
This week that quote has multiple meanings for us. First, it's quite literal. It rained a couple of times in the past few days and so created a lot of wetness. I took Emma to the field at the park next to our house Tuesday. It was incredibly muddy. And of course, Emma wanted to play in the mud, and in the mud only. It was not any fun trying to get her back on a leash and I got really muddy and wet as well. And then today, Wednesday, I took Emma to the dog park to try and avoid the wet field. The dog park was a major bummer. Not only was Emma the only dog there, but it was puddly as well. And again, Emma loved every minute of the park while she was playing in the puddles. She had to bring her toys into the mud and also tried to dig in it. Then after Emma was all wet, she decided it would be a great idea to go dig a hole to get dry dirt all over her wet body. And following tradition, she then had to sit in said hole.

Ah, happy doggy.
And the seconding meaning to that quote is less literal. Miguel and I made an offer on a house today. I love this house! It's in a part of Savannah that I really like. Just driving around the area makes my soul dance a little. I love the energy. I think I really missed the energy of people while living on the islands. The thing about the house is that it was built in 1924. And while I love the historic details of the house it could turn into a money pit. We definitely want to avoid that! So after we hear back about our offer (which I'm sure will get countered) and if we end up getting the house, it will be interesting to see how inspections go. So... if you could all say a prayer for us and our house situation, we'd very much appreciate it!

Dirty and Happy About It
I had lunch with a friend yesterday at one of my favorite spots, Zunzi's. It's down town near the dog park so Emma came along too so we could hop over to the park after lunch. I was really excited when we got there because there were actually a lot of dogs there. One of our recent trips to the park turned out to be very disappointing when Emma was the only dog there. Yesterday, we went during the same part of the day as before, but there was a much better turn out. I guess it must have been better weather yesterday.
Some of Emma's regular friends were there as well as some new faces. I met a woman and her dog, Maggie, who she had rescued from Adopt-A-Golden Atlanta. I thought that was pretty cool since my mom is a placement specialist with them and I did some volunteering with them as well. It was good to see someone benefit from AAG and see the dog so happy too. Some of the new dogs we hadn't met before played really well with Emma. They liked to run and chase to play which is how Emma prefers to play.
Emma got absolutely gross. Dog slobber + rolling in dirt make for a very dirty dog. But Emma was in heavenly bliss. She needs a bath something terrible. I attempted to give her one yesterday when we got home, but for some reason (probably some very obvious reason with a very simple solution) I couldn't get the car wash hose to work. But by the time we got home she was pretty dry so I brushed her off as best as I could. Maybe we'll try again later today or when Miguel gets home later tonight.

Emma was too distracted to pose for a picture... so ended up only getting half of her messiness captured.
The best thing, for me, about the dog park is how worn out Emma gets. She usually sleeps for a good couple of hours straight when we get home. Emma finally has a new dog bed since she destroyed her last one - which was too small for her anyways. We got her one that she fits on now. However, I think she is so used to being too big for her bed that she insists on still hanging off of it. We want to get her a proper dog bed that is a little bigger anyways. I wonder how she'll take to that?

I went to the dog park (wag!) and then I got a bath (pout!)
My mom and dad took me to the dog park today!!!! Wag, wag, wag!
Come on dad! The park is this way!
Greeting committee
Dad played football with some of the other dogs
It was a busy day at the park
Under is always good
This was the park bully.
I was the smallest dog, but I kept up and played with all the big dogs!
We didn't like it when our friends left, so we all tried to talk them into staying.
Yay! New friends walking toward the park!
These are my buddies Blue and.... and... I don't remember the other, but I remember how she smells!
I got so dirty and smelly and slobbery at the park. Oh my goodness! It was HEAVEN! But mom and dad made me take a bath when we got back home. Now I smell like puppy shampoo and not dirty dog! Why don't parents ever understand! They just don't get it!
